Disclaimar

I know alot have given me praise over the blueberry patch and I know I tell alot of people praise the lord for it. Alot have asked about who I am so I thought maybe showing you who we are here on J&D's ranch might help you understand why I say praise the lord. We have not wanted or gone without here. God is Good.

J&D's ranch from nothing to something

Our Story

1988 one boy falls for one girl at 8 years old. So, what's he do? He convinces his mom to let him spend every dollar he had saved to cover her desk with flowers presents and candy on valentine's day. What's she do? Comes to school late that day. But when she does show up, she sits at her desk smiles and looks around and the class points to him so she looks at him and he's so nervous and she smile at him the way only she can.

Almost 40 years go by

Did you think at 8 years old it was happily ever after? Not even close. She moved away by high school. He went on but always felt something missing. Everyone always said you never forget your first love. Well she was unforgettable thats for sure. After marriages divorces and messy lives. She and him reunite. They didn't fall in love when they reunited though. They knew the second they saw each other they were still in love.

So here we are

So he doesnt hesitate asks to marry her she says yes messy year there they buy a farm he calls it a ranch they learn its God's land not theres and this relationship only works if they keep getting closer to God every step of it. We have built this into a home. We are excited to share. Our story continues below.

I'm not myself when she's away. So, I pray harder during those times.

Why call it J&D's

It's all in the names

When they moved here, she called it a farm. He said I always wanted a ranch. A debate ensued and he convinced her to call it a ranch. Then they began talking about what to name it. An hour drive later they came up with J&D's ranch. His first suggestion D&J's ranch she said no. J&D's and John & Devons ranch was born. They love the name having their names as one. It's been an uphill battle ever sense. Stay with us because there's a lot more coming more pictures of the ranch and what we've been doing. Remember as every house often is this house was empty. Moving in was a long process cleaning organizing and the decor was something else and two soul mates don't always agree on where the couch should go or even if they like said couch lol. Long story short we had a fun trip putting it all together.

To build or not to build

When she said she wanted a garden he took pallets made walls and temporary garden beds and they planted that year. He thought she'd not like it his heart went crazy when she gave him that smile only, she could give and told him she liked it. she often says, " it's mine you built it for me I love it" That's all he ever needs.

It's a "PROCESS"

When life gives you Apples

One Goat, Two Goat make Two More

Apple's make apple sauce, Tomatoes make spaghetti sauce. They lied lol. We made the apple sauce and the spaghetti sauce. Reality is it's a lot of work but we love the results.

One Goat, Two Goat make Two More

One Goat, Two Goat make Two More

Ever had to help birth a goat? Or maybe give shots or work with trimming their hooves? The process is long, and we have outdoor clothes for a reason. Goats are cute but a lot to take care of. We love our goats.

DI...Y? I don't want to DIY anymore

Below I will add pictures of our DIY's. Long story short I'm tired. But I love the results she is amazing and her ideas always come out beautiful.

How do you grow a grape?

She thinks my Tractors Broken

Yes we planted grapes and no we have no idea how to grow them. Least we didn't we do now. We hope to have plenty by next season.

She thinks my Tractors Broken

She thinks my Tractors Broken

She thinks my Tractors Broken

Plow the fields, rack the drive way, pull in hey even. Tractors are amazing machines but keeping them running can be a mess.

Can you or Can't you?

She thinks my Tractors Broken

She thinks my Tractors Broken

If it's worth making it's worth canning. You ever canned before? It's a long process. But the outcome has always been worth it. We preserve what we can.

DIY's

    J&D's Ranch

    So, imagine our suprise

We didn't set out wanting our home to turn into a memorial, we didn't set out wanting to interact with people. We were in our 40's content with life and grateful to God for what he's provided us. So, when God told John to build this John obeyed, he says he only said one thing back to the lord. But lord I don't like blueberries. The lord's response he says was good thing they aren't for you. John says he responded to the lord well if that's the case let's build this thing. John's biggest issue the waiting part. But he knows with patience comes something wonderful.
